We are excited to be working, (alongside Mosedale Gillatt Architects) in the Stunning Grade1 listed Northumberland Hall in Alnwick - built in 1826 by the third Duke of Northumberland it was used as Alnwick’s assembly rooms. Arcades run along the north and south sides of the building, housing three retail units; original features include 19th-century fireplaces and chandeliers. Despite a recent programme of restoration and refurbishment, this building remains underutilised.
Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery, a volunteer-led organisation who run the award-winning Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery out of St Mary’s Church in Alnwick are leading on this project. Recent successes mean it has now outgrown these premises, and we are helping them with their vision to move to Northumberland Hall after capital works (subject to funding) in 2027. We've previously supported the trustees with viability and feasibility work, and now during the development phase are working with the professional team to support a Round2 application in Summer 2025.

We are excited to be working, (alongside Tyne & Wear building preservation Trust) in the magnificent Grade II*-listed Keelmen’s Hospital which was constructed in 1701 at a cost of £2,000, and for 180 years it operated as an almshouse for retired and sick keelmen and their families.
The eventual decline in guilds meant the decline of the original use of the building, and it later served as council housing for 90 years. Most recently, it was converted into student accommodation, but this use ceased after 30 years.
The building has been unloved and unused since 2009 and is on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register. But, thanks to a partnership project between Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust and Newcastle City Council, a new proposal is now on the cards to save this important heritage building at risk in the heart of Newcastle and the ambition is to bring it back into community use, building on its proud heritage and creating affordable new homes in central Newcastle
We are developing and running a heritage craft skills programme on site
